These are an excellent source of fiber for people who are lacking (generally those on high protein high fat low carb diets). It helps in the passing of stool. I did not notice any laxative effects. These are 100% fiber and taste that way. I generally took a heaping tablespoon of them and tried to wash it down as quickly as possible with water.
