Beta-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid that is used by muscle cells to synthesize Carnosine. Carnosine is the dipeptide (Beta-Alanine plus Histidine) that functions as a buffer for the hydrogen ions (acid) produced during strenuous exercise, thus helping to maintain optimum muscular pH. Clinical studies suggest that Beta-Alanine supplementation can increase muscle Carnosine content and delay muscle fatigue.

Now Beta-AlanineRemove all the other crap - Beta-Alanine is all you need.I would workout later in the evening so I needed a pre-workouts without - I was just after the pump and recovery benefits of a pre-workout. I did a lot of research and found the most researched and proven active ingredient in pre-workout's is Beta-Alanine (BA). So, I made a conscious decision to cut out all the other crap and see what happens if I just take BA. I started taking BA immediately after finishing my previous pre-workout (no cycling off). Initially I only noticed a difference in the tingles (more) and pump (full and longer lasting). My recovery didn't seem effected... until I recently stopped taking BA for a week over the holiday break and I lost a lot of strength at really struggled at the end of my workout. I'm taking it again and never stopping haha. So in my experience, Beta-Alanine gave me a great pump, aided in recovery and helping with the last few exercises of my workout - it's brilliant. I also feel really great that I could cut out a lot of the other stuff and get the same results - AND it's super cheap. I take 2mg X 4 times daily.
