Intra Workout Amino Fuel!
Splyce is intra-workout fuel based on branch-chain amino acids (BCAA) with a supporting cast of ingredients that have been shown to promote muscle building and enhance muscle volume. Splyce can allow you to train harder and for longer because it provides the amino acids that are metabolized directly in the muscle. Not only can this help switch off catabolic enzymes that can break muscle down, it can also delay the fatigue that can hinder a long, hard workout.
- Elevate levels of protein synthesis for more muscle
- Promote muscle cell volume for fuller, rounder muscles
- Train harder and recover quicker with naturally occurring anabolic agents
During training, muscle cells are striving to generate ATP from food-derived fuel stores, and the harder you work the more rapidly this process powers your workout. However, one damaging byproduct – superoxide - can wreak havoc on a working cell. Think about it like your body rebelling against you for putting it through the intense training it takes to grow.
Taurine has been shown to increase exercise time to exhaustion by decreasing oxidative stress during exercise, protecting cells from this damaging molecule produced during intense training and increased workload. We don’t want anything stopping you from going beyond your limits, and taurine’s ability to stave off exhaustion provides ideal physical performance enhancement to complement the relentless mental drive that carries you through your most intense workouts.
With Taurine, you can put that call to quit on hold and protect your muscular machinery from chemical injury.
In human subjects, TMG has been shown to delay fatigue during exercise, making its partnership with taurine ideal in Splyce - but that’s only the beginning. TMG also kept athletes working at full capacity throughout training sessions, supporting steady power, force and intensity significantly in both bench press and squat training.
Finally, researchers who have studied TMG as an ergogenic aid in humans hypothesize that one of its key mechanisms is acting as an osmolyte, pulling water into skeletal muscles, increasing size and decreasing susceptibility to fatigue. (6) These are all scientifically validated mechanisms that contribute to Splyce, the new breed in intra-workout performance.
We know that dietary protein intake stimulates muscle growth and we also know that muscle protein synthesis decreases while muscle protein degradation increases during exercise. Ideally, we want to stop these metabolic effectors from putting muscle growth on hold, and digestive processes during training don’t exactly make whey protein the most attractive option to keep this process from negatively affecting your progress in the gym. It turns out that one essential amino acid in particular, L-leucine, is more than just a building block for muscle, but also a agent.
What does this mean?
1.8g L-leucine alone (one of the three BCAA’s in Splyce) is enough to elicit maximal muscle protein synthesis in healthy adults. This happens when leucine enters skeletal muscle and activates a growth factor protein called mTOR; however, there are other players in the process that are necessary to keep muscle protein synthesis churning. Specifically, we’re talking about the other two BCAA’s, l-isoleucine and l-valine.
So, adding another 1.8g of the other two should be enough to fix the problem, right? Wrong. Not only is the combination crucial to muscle growth, but the ratio of the three is too, as is shown in most clinical research utilizing BCAA’s in athletes. That ratio appears to be 2:1:1, or half as much isoleucine and valine for every leucine, first because that ratio mimics the BCAA content of animal protein and second because the human body seems to metabolize BCAA’s best in this 2:1:1 ratio.
And it’s not only effective during training.
Recent research shows that even when amino acid levels are elevated in your blood after a meal, muscle protein synthesis grinds to a halt after 2 hours. However, raising BCAA concentrations in the blood with a quick, clinically effective dose of BCAA’s, can reignite muscle protein synthesis, extending your normal physiological response past the 2-hour hurdle.
Supplementing with a 2:1:1 ratio of BCAA’s either during training or between meals gives you a scientifically proven edge in muscle protein synthesis, no matter what your athletic goals, and further, BCAA supplementation during exercise has been shown to attenuate mental fatigue and improve cognitive performance by competing for L-tryptophan uptake in the brain. BCAA’s truly do have the potential to prolong the integrity of your mind-muscle connection during long bouts of intense training.
In the days when protein connoisseurs were almost always engaged in some type of debate over filtration methods and protein sources, one of the most heavily scrutinized filtration processes was ion-exchange filtration.
Ion-exchange filtration is a harsh, unforgiving process, and some specific peptides found in whey protein are delicate - they simply don’t survive the process. These special peptides are known as whey microfractions, and one found abundantly in whey is a called beta-lactoglobulin. Now it’s important to note that this microfraction is abundant in cow’s milk, but it has no known function in humans. However, its “sister-peptide,” FractoFuse (alpha- lactalbumin) is both scarce in cow’s milk and highly abundant in human breast milk.
Intuitively, we always look for innovative ways to accelerate muscle growth naturally and safely, and there is a lot of promise for FractoFuse for clinically evident reasons.
First, its role in human growth during early stages in life is well established and clinically validated. In fact, a baby formula enriched with FractoFuse but lower in total protein by 1.3g/l resulted in equivalent, healthy weight gain against infants fed the higher protein formula and the researchers suggest that the BCAA content, which is naturally quite close to 2:1:1, of FractoFuse could be responsible for the compensatory weight gain.
Second, and perhaps equally important, is FractoFuse’s role in lactose metabolism where it activates the enzyme that converts glucose and galactose to lactose which may decrease blood glucose and therein increase fat oxidation; the exact result researchers observed in rats fed a FractoFuse enriched supplement prior to being subjected to a bout of exercise.
Often you’ll see products claim an “increase in lean mass” in an organisms fed an ingredient they use in a supplement; however, lean mass does not necessarily mean muscle mass…except in this case where the results at the end of that study mentioned above showed increased MUSCLE mass and decreased fat mass in the FractoFuse group against both glucose and whey protein groups.
As always we went above and beyond, setting out to create more than just a reliable, delicious, top-quality BCAA supplement - we bring new products to market with every athlete in mind, and Splyce is just another rung in the ladder to your ultimate natural performance enhancement arsenal.
