What is Sesamin
Sesamin is a lignan that is found in sesame seeds. A lignan is a molecule that combines with a receptor to activate that receptor, and create a response. The receptor and lignan will then perform a function in the body. Sesamin is a lignan for the Peroxisome Proliferator-ActivatorReceptor Alpha (PPARalpha). The receptor is found in muscle, liver, and heart tissue and is involved in the oxidation (burning) of fat.
