Taking melatonin 30-60 minutes before bed will help promote a drowsy feeling that is indistinguishable from regular tiredness - since melatonin is made by the body naturally. Adequate sleep is as crucial as water, as far as I'm concerned. Melatonin has been specifically shown to increase the length of REM sleep, the deepest, most recuperative period of the sleep cycle.I sometimes have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep on school nights - adding extra melatonin on these nights usually helps me get better quality sleep. I may also take it after an intense workout (before bed of course) to get the maximum recovery potential out of my rest. I do notice an increase in dream amount and frequency about half the time I take melatonin. It's not really a con unless you are prone to bad dreams. It also makes it easier to fall back asleep if woken up. Because of this, you shouldn't take it if you don't have at least seven hours to devote to sleep. Otherwise, you will get in a FIGHT with your alarm clock. Eight hours or more and you will wake up without a problem.This is not Ambienesta. It will not knock you out cold, so if you have real sleep problems and are looking for a heavy-duty tranquilizer, this is not what you want. This is a naturally occurring substance in the body that WILL allow you to wake up and be alert if necessary - like if your house catches fire or something. You cannot form a dependence on melatonin and your body will never lose its ability to make its own regardless of whether you use it once a week or every night. Some nights you produce less than others (depending on the amount of light you're exposed to, the stress you're under, etc.) so consider it a gentle helping hand.At [$]a bottle, the value is remarkable. You'd have a really hard time going wrong here.

This product is average at best. I don't seem to see a real increase in the quality of my sleep or my ability to fall asleep. It may help very slightly, but to close to call. If you have sleeping issues, it probably will not work for you- after all, it is just a suppliment. I have only been taking it for a couple of weeks on and off so maybe I have to wait for noticable results.

Tablets are the last resort in any supplement I take. These are no exception. Usually one 3mg capsule is enought, here I have to take two tablets.

I would have to say that I am now on my second bottle and continue to see positive results. The product has worked so well that I have recommended it to my father. Generally he is the type of person that does not like to use products that are not natural, however, I told him this is a naturally occurring chemical that is produced in our body. He has been using the product for a couple of days and I asked him if it allows him to go to sleep. For the most part, he said it does but he will wake up in the middle of the night but this may be due to the fact that he is suffering from depression currently. Overall, from my point of view the product has worked for me. I have seen very positive result on my behalf, I am not as stress as I was before. Finally I am getting better night sleep overall.

Started taking it here on Keesler AFB because my bed sucks and I wanted something that would help me sleep better at night. This had pretty good reviews over at[@] so I gave this a shot, plus it was only[$]. The first two or three nights were fine but after that it started to give me weird dreams at night and would wake me up after about 4 hours of sleep and I wouldn't be able to sleep at all after I was awaken. Stopped taking it and now my sleep it back to normal.

Wasn't sleeping the best throughout the night, so I decided to try this and it works pretty well. Doesn't overdo it, but helps me sleep just a little bit better with still being able to get up.

This product is great I remember conducting research on Melatonin during my undergrad years and I would have to say I was amazed. First off I read that this product helps you get a good night sleep and thus far I have had great sleep since I started using the product. Furthermore, I also read that it is a free radical scavenger and I was intrigued and I am also conducting my own amateur research.

This product recommended 1 tablet which is 3mg. From What I have read some dosages are 10mg which is more than enough. Since young kid I have had problem sleeping. I am 36 and would often toss and turn for hours sleep few hours before work. This product helps. I am able to relax and dose off and wake up refresh. Its not a sleeping pill where you are out in 30 minutes and when you wake up you are half asleep for next 5 hours. Its subtle way to helping you get you z's and no side effects. Im 225.. ok 230 so if you are a bigger guy take 1-2 when you start. I did not think they would work, I would strongly recommend them.
