Leucine is great because it shocks the body into an anabolic state, greatly increasing the rate of protein synthesis of the body. I find the best times to take it is once after your workout, mixed with either protein and/or glutamine for best results. It works great with food as well. Turning normally good meals into outstanding muscle building meals! Just ensure you do not exceed 5 grams every three hours as shocking the body with the presence of leucine is more effective than the amount consumed.
