Homocysteine is a harmful amino acid produced in the body. Normally the body rapidly converts homocysteine into a harmless substance called cystathionine.

But smoking, getting older, running short of B vitamins and drinking too much tea or coffee may reduce our ability to keep homocysteine in our blood within the normal range.

Some scientists now believe that maintaining homocysteine within the normal range helps maintain a healthy heart and arteries.

Researchers have found that the body maintains normal homocysteine levels when there are sufficient B vitamins, such as folic acid and vitamin B12, in the daily diet, as these vitamins are used in the biochemical pathways that break down homocysteine. Homocysteine Modulator helps prevent the build up of homocysteine in the body.
