Not sure if I would have gotten it otherwise, because I really don't need it for what I use it for and I might have gone with a different material if I were to buy such an item. This one seems to be more of poly blend. An example of how I use it is for working my traps/free weights. It is a little stiff when first received, but this may go away after frequent use over a few months. Seems durable, and does it's job...assist with grip. For such a simple item, that's a good review. Recommended if it's free, or if you really need an item like this and you aren't too picky of the material. I have a differn't pair that I'm using that are a lot thicker, but these will come handy when letting a buddy borrow them. Comments about Valeo Cotton Lifting Straps, One Pair: Use these when I do shrugs and on pulling exercises for back. Easily assists me whether I'm shrugging 10 plates or lat pulling the whole stack. They were a free gift when I purchased 100$ from A1. Awesome!

The take the strain off of my wrists when raising dumbbells over my head and give me a better grip on the handles. Easy to use and requires no storage space!
